What's a good investment

Well I found a really great town that might be the perfect place for me to find a home. It's on the cheaper side (when cheaper for a townhouse is $250,000...), but the main thing is that I think it will have a high resale value. I am really trying to make a good investment on this property, because I know I won't be there for more than 10 years. Any advice?
