Repairs

Hello There,

Well, I finally found out that the sellers have accepted my addendum, and that means that they're going to either repair or credit each of the problems with the home that I pointed out. I'm learning so much during this real estate purchase. My next question is how I can really verify that they repaired each thing well--for instance, what if they put in poor quality carpeting?

I'm closing on the house at the end of April and I'm really excited to own my first piece of real estate. I plan to immediately begin fixing it up, and one of my first tasks will be to find a contractor for a professional paint job. I don't trust myself to do a good enough job!

Negotiations

Well I'm pleased to say that the sellers have accepted my negotiations! I'm so thrilled, because now I really feel like I'm getting a good deal on a house that I'm really going to love. I heard horror stories before about sellers not accepting any negotiations, but I'm glad I tried, because I really lucked out!

Fake Window

I thought of this awesome idea that I'm going to do for one of my walls in my new home. I'm actually getting this huge poster (3 feet by 4 feet), and I'm going to cut it up into 9 pieces, and put each piece in it's own frame. Then I'm going to line the frames up, and put curtains on either side. The frames are really plain, so it's going to look like an intact window, and I think it'll be really impressive.

Rehab

Hello There,

If you have a problem with drugs, then maybe you shouldn't be surfing around on blogs. Nevertheless, you've come to the right post, because I found a great drug rehab that could be the perfect antidote to a user's addiction. These days, drugs are so powerful and so easy to come by, that you really do need help to kick your drug habit. So don't hesitate to go on over to 1800nodrugs.com and turn your life around. You'll be in good hands with their drug rehab program. It's among the best in the country.

What do you think?

I am really hopeful that since the sellers are taking so long to respond to my addendum, that they're actually considering it. I was afraid that I would give them a list of things to fix post-inspection, and they would just deny everything. Now I'm thinking that they're a little smarter than that, and I know that they just want to get the house sold.

It's YOUR Market!

Hello There,

I absolutely loved my time in the UK, and I will definitely be returning there soon. Till then, I wanted to let all my UK readers know about the classifieds website that I recently found. It's called Itsmymarket.com, and it was launched as a local classified ad provider in the UK. You can head on over there for community websites, local news and weather information, "what's on" guides, blogs to check out, and even free dating sites. There really is everything you could possibly need.

They have an absolutely awesome "core offering" of classified ads that you need to check out first. It will give you a taste of the entire site, and there's tons of cool information on there.

So make sure you check it out--I think you'll really like it.

Fixing Up

I recently read that not only is it best to get a home in the better area (even if it's not an ideal home), but it's also not worthwhile to improve a home to a degree that is better than the homes around it. I guess those two points go hand in hand. However, it's upsetting to buy a home and not be able to fix it up to the point that I feel comfortable and content in it.
Any suggestions?

List of Demands

Tonight I put together my list of demands for home repairs and credits. The inspection report listed a lot of little things, and I'm going to note almost every one. The hard thing is that I would rather put a total amount that I need credited, but I really don't know the true total. I feel like if I demand repairs, they will be done shoddily.

Home Inspection

Hello There,

I'm currently reviewing the inspection report. It looks like although there are no huge ticket items in need of repair, the place was definitely not well-maintained. Unfortunately, that means there might be hidden maintenance problems that I will not find until I've lived there awhile. That's why I encourage everyone to get a professional home inspection as well as a full year warranty before they commit to a home purchase.

Remote Desktop

Hello There,

One of the coolest things I recently learned a computer is capable of is the "remote desktop" feature. With this feature enabled on your computer, you can actually access, for instance, your work computer from home, or your home computer from work. It's really fantastic, and I'm sure it saves a lot of people a LOT of time in commutes, if they get home and realize that there's something they forgot to do on their work computer. Now they can just do it from home!

And I'm so excited to tell you about Techinline Remote Desktop. In my opinion, it's the best remote desktop service out there, and all you need to do is head over to techinline.com to see for yourself. The truly exciting thing about this service is it's ease and usability. Truly, you can access your desktop in seconds, with nothing more than an internet connection. Check it out--I bet you'll love it!

Running

Hello There,

Well, I was running this morning, and I completely wiped out. I skidded on the concrete and tore up my hands and my knee very badly. It's been a long and painful day since then, and it's so depressing, because I didn't get to enjoy the weather to it's fullest. I hope I've healed substantially by tomorrow...
